Buffalo Hunting in Colorado Our guided bison hunts are near Denver Colorado for some of the best eating buffalo in the west, you can also hunt monster trophy bulls! We offer guided buffalo hunts on a 12,000 acre private ranch near Denver Colorado. We have chosen this ranch for many reasons but first and foremost is that this ranch offers us the chance to allow you to HUNT your bison. Our hunts are not shoot them in a pen hunts, they are much more work then people think and our bow hunts are a real challenge. We offer cull hunts in a herd setting, there are normally from 20-50 bison that are possible shooters on the 12,000 acres at any given time and all the animals are fair game. This allows you the chance to have an in-field upgrade if you see a huge bull that you would like to harvest in place of the 2.5 year old bull or cow that we are looking for. The other reason that you want to choose us for your hunt is that our animals are grain finished and ready for market to be sold as prime meat. All the meat packers that we have taken our animals to have commented on the fact that our bison are the best looking they have ever seen. Our cull hunts are for bulls and cows that have been on grain for 6-11 weeks in order to get ready for market then are cut into the herd before your hunt. Our hunts are cull hunts, what that means is that there are specific animals on the ranch that we are looking for that are all of the same age class and size. Also on the ranch are older breeder cows and bulls. Some of the bulls on the ranch this year will be over 15 years old and weigh close to 2400#, all If you were planning on a hunt for a 2.5 year old bull and choose to change you plans and hunt a monster trophy bull you have that option. Most hunts take from 1-1.5 days but we have had some bow hunts take 3-4 days when looking for a special trophy bull. All 2.5 year old bull hunts are for PRIME meat and will yield about 400-500# of meat, cows will offer about 300-400# of meat. Most clients choose to sell quarters of the bison to friends for $300.00 per quarter and then get the hunt, hide, head and a quarter for themselves for a great price. We offer hunts from November 25th-March 15th but if you are looking to hunt a monster bull or have a head mount of any animal we highly suggest that you plan your hunt from December 15 to January 30th for the best coats and hide.
Cost of the hunt is $2500 - $3,500* and includes the following: *1 buffalo Price Does NOT include: *Meat packaging/shipping You will be met at the ranches main gate on the days of your hunt, we will assist you with all field work as well as transportation to local packers. Hunts open to any dates that do not interfere with other hunts. We do accept last minute bookings most years, call us at anytime. *Hunts are $2500-3500 depending on age class of animal. Cost on a 2.5 year old bull hunt is $2500, cow hunts are somewhat less expensive. If you have a meat bull hunt booked you can at anytime upgrade to a trophy bull, at anytime just ask and we will show you all the trophy bulls on the ranch.
